We love going to restaurants or phoning something in. It never takes much to persuade us that eating home cooked food would be wiser. (I reckon about 80% of our free money goes on eating out!)
So one night, after a rather gruelling day at work, we decided to have a wee treat. We both work in the City Centre, meaning there are endless options for us to choose from.
This night we decided to go the Kitsch Inn, at the Tikki Bar on Bath Street.
The food was breathtakingly good!
We had a mixed Thai sharer platter for a starter, which consisted of Chicken Satay, King Prawn tempura, spring rolls and prawn crackers. Served with Dips.
Not a scrap was left!
In particular I loved the prawn tempura. It was crisp and the prawn were cooked perfectly! Tempura had a tendency to turn up to your table soggy and overcooked. This was by far the best tempura I have ever eaten.
We then moved onto the main event.
I had ordered a Massaman Beef Curry, Mr F ordered the Thai Yellow Curry with Coley.
My beef was sublime. I fell apart as you ate, not a scrap of fat and delicately flavoured.

Mr.F’s curry was also very tasty I hear. Not being much of a fish fan, I didn’t try it, but the smell alone made my mouth water and tastebuds tingle!

The best 50p I have ever spent! It was by far the best fried rice I’ve eaten. Ever!
I normally don’t like to be so gushy about places, but the Kitsch Inn just can’t be faulted. The staff are fantastic and friendly, food you want to shout about from the rooftops… and of course there is plenty of rum cocktails on offer. What’s not to love about the place?
And I just have to note, that our whole meal came under the early evening offer, and we only paid about £13 each for two courses. Great value when you consider that Mr.F’s curry is normally £10.20 on its own!
This says it all…

Very very full tummies that night!
